Bayern crushed Greuther Furth, but not until a very undeserved equalizer shifted momentum their way

The super-normal Mr "Ruud van-tastisch", praised as "the best box player in the world" by Berg, was taken aback by his immediate impact. "I was desperate to play but scoring two goals surprised me," he said modestly, before celebrating his performance with a cola and chocolate bar in the airport departure lounge.
Rib & Rob played Katz & Maus with the Dortmund defence in the Allianz Arena

Ben Littleton über Hamburgs holländischen Neuzugang:
Van Nistelrooy was always going to leave Madrid this year he had six months left on his contract, and the club tried to offload him last summer but it was some surprise that he moved to Hamburg on an 18-month deal, where he has taken a significant pay-cut. And yet already the move looks a good one.

Where Germany is concerned, even Stuttgart have grounds for tentative hope.

Patrick Barclay responds: Premier League can learn from Bundesliga
Times Online
But look at the German example. Last November, the clubs in the Bundesliga, their premier league, again backed the rule that fans own a majority of shares. They claim it guarantees stability, continuity and proximity to the supporters.
Guardian
It may be lagging behind its English, Italian and Spanish counterparts in the race for success in the short term, but it is undoubtedly built on solid foundations.
The future appears bright and one can`t help but envy the functioning of the German league.
The Sport Review
the sporting culture in Germany largely supported a more equitable, more member involved and less capitalistic or financially reckless model. The Bundesliga was a means to improve the national sport, not to make owners rich.
A More Splendid Life
That nonsense aside, the format for the German Cup is worth taking a look at. It's a compact, six-round competition spread across the entire season that doesn't place too many demands on the top-flight teams, who consequently field full sides and take the competition seriously.

If the PSL (die südafrikanische Profiliga) were to choose a foreign league to emulate, it could do worse than picking Germany's Bundesliga as a case study for success.

Gabriele Marcotti: While it may have seemed like a high-risk move, Mr. Van Nistelrooy is the type of player who, in soccer-speak, has the one quality which can not be affected by injury: He knows how to play the game.

"Of course I would consider playing for the US National team," Williams admitted. "At this time I never really think about playing for Germany or for the USA national teams. I played for Germany U15s but after that I haven't heard from people on either the German teams or the USA teams."

The last time Hannover 96 was in the 2.Bundesliga was the 2001-02 season. They got out of it by winning the title, capping a run of form that had them working their way out of the third division only a few years earlier. Now, they're facing a relegation fight to stay up in a tough season by any standard.

It might be because the Bundesliga doesn't exactly have the same glitz and glamor that the Premier League has. Bundesliga teams like Hannover and BMG also don't have the benefit of the exposure and following that English counterparts like Fulham enjoy Stateside.

bunsenallstar :
