Die Preseason ist vorbei. Aber auch in der Saison werden wir uns mit News versorgen rund um die größte Franchise der NFL.

- RT Alex Barron ist zur Zeit der Bad Boy in Dallas. Bei der Niederlage in Washington verursachte er drei Holdingstrafen (zum Vergleich, in der kompletten letzten Saison kam er nur auf fünf), darunter eine schmerzhafte während des potentiellen Siegspielzug (13 Yards auf Roy Williams). Dazu Tony Romo:
"We have to go back and watch the tape and see what we could have done, for everyone. Obviously, that's something we're going to have to talk about, but I think Alex did a good job tonight."

zum Spiel:
"We made far too many mistakes and we couldn't overcome them."
dazu das die Offense nur ein TD auf die Anzeigetafel bekommen hat:
"I thought we moved the ball better tonight than we did in the preseason. In a tough environment against a tough defense it's going to be a lower scoring game. But obviously we have to put more on the board than that."
Was er noch zu den Fehlern, zum Debüt von Dez Bryant und zu Miles Austin gesagt hat
-RB Tashard Choice im Interview , nach dem Spiel gegen die Redskins. Natürlich äußert er sich auch zu seinem Fumble. Es war übrigens sein erster Fumble in 199 Ballberührungen. Leider ein großer...
-Head Coach Wade Phillips hat sich zu eben jenem Fumbleplay geäußert und angekündigt, dass er Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett in Zukunft in der Situation überstimmen wird. Er meinte aber auch, dass sie das Play so abgesprochen hatten, allerdings waren sie zu dem Zeitpunkt noch davon ausgegangen mehr Zeit auf der Uhr zu haben.
-Die Zweifel über die Qualitäten von K David Buehler sind wieder da. Nachdem er in der Preseason 10 von 11 FG verwandelte, verschoss er gleich seinen ersten und einzigen Versuch gegen die Redskins. Gegen die Bears wird wohl wieder seine Chance bekommen...
-LG Kyle Kosier und RT Marc Colombo sind seit gestern wieder im Mannschaftstraining und es wird erwartet, das beide gegen die Bears starten. Gerade auf Colombos Comeback warten die Fans, nach der Schwachen Performance von RT Alex Barron (15 Holdings in 5 Jahren, Colombo 4 Holdings in 9 Jahren). OLB DeMarcus Ware und FB Deon Anderson fehlten hingegen beim Training während LB Sean Lee nur Lauftraining ohne Helm und Pad absolvierte.

@maschemist: Ich bin ehrlich. Wir brauchen schon das nötige Glück um "das Heimspiel" zu erreichen. Möglich ist es aber es müssen schon ein paar Dinge passen...

The Cowboys have been portrayed as dumb and dumber non stop since Sunday.
And with good reason, there is no excuse for the Keystone Cops routine that resulted in a fumble and game-deciding touchdown in the 13-7 loss to the Redskins.
But with 15 games to go, the question is whether it is a harbinger of a bad season to come and the end of Jerry Jones' dream of playing in the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium as the home team?
Maybe.
But maybe not.
I t could be just a blip on what ends up as a super season and the start of a dynasty.
Back in 1992, the Cowboys were victims of similar ugliness in an embarrassing and demoralizing loss to the Redskins.
It was December 13 and the Cowboys had dominated the game against the Redskins with 343 yards of offense. The defense had allowed the Redskins just one offensive touchdown, a fluky halfback pass.
But the Cowboys failed to score in the second half. Troy Aikman threw a fourth quarter interception on a drive that would have sealed the game. The Cowboys were also undone by three fumbles, including one by receiver Michael Irvin.
The capper that will go down as one of the stupidest decisions in franchise history came 3 and 1/2 minutes left and the Cowboys holding a 17-13 lead.
On second and 7 from the 5 yard line, Aikman went back to pass only see the ball knocked from his hand by defensive tackle Jason Buck as he was attempting to pass.
For some reason, Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith picked the ball up and tried to run it out. As he was being tackled, he then tried to throw it out of the end zone, rather than simply falling on it for the safety and a 17-15 lead. But when he scooped the ball up in the air, it was snared by Redskins safety Danny Copeland for the game-winning score.
It was a crushing loss and there was no talk at the team of this team recovering for a Super Bowl run _ let alone go on to win three titles in the next four years and become the team of the decade.
The 49ers were still the dominant team and the Cowboys were upstarts who knew nothing of overcoming this kind of adversity let alone how to become champions.
Of course that team had three future Hall of Famers in Irvin, Aikman and Smith, a future one in Charles Haley and a win at all cost head coach in Jimmy Johnson who would not let them lose.
These Cowboys have stars in Tony Romo, Jason Witten, DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff, Miles Austin and a future one in Dez Bryant.
They also have Wade Phillips. You decide on the latter.
But dumb and dumber in Washington doesn't necessarily mean the Cowboys have no chance at a super season.

-FB Deon Anderson fällt 2-4 Wochen aus und die Cowboys schauen sich nach einem TE/FB um...
-Und Marc Colombo ist schon heiß auf seien ehemaligen Teamkollegen bei den Bears. Ganz nebenbei wird er es wohl mit dem besten DE der Liga zu tun bekommen: Julius Peppers.
Btw.: Einer meiner Lieblingsspieler in der Liga.
-OLB DeMarcus Ware hat gestern wieder eingeschränkt trainiert und wird wohl gegen die Bears ran dürfen. Pass Rush wird einer der Schlüssel sein Cutler aus dem Spiel zu nehmen (4x gesackt gegen die Lions)
-LG Montrae Holland und RT Alex Barron werden wohl nicht gegen die Bears starten dürfen, aber sie werden wohl Snaps auf dem Feld bekommen, da HC Wade Phillips damit rechnet, Colombo und Kosier immer mal wieder Atempausen zu gönnen.
- Und zu guter letzt CB Bryan McCann ist wieder da. Unter der Woche wurde der DB im Practice Squad aufgenommen. McCann hatte das ganze Training Camp bei den Cowboys absolviert wurde aber in der letzten Runde gecuttet. Nach einem kurzen Zwischenspiel bei den Ravens, die ihn diese Woche wieder entlassen haben, ist er wieder in Big D.
