Bartolo Colon hat in der MLB Geschichte geschrieben. Der Pitcher der New York Mets feierte beim 6:3 gegen die San Diego Padres mit 42 Jahren als ältester Spieler in der 113-jährigen MLB-Geschichte seine Homerun-Premiere.

Rekordhalter vor dem Mets-Werfer war Randy Johnson, der 2003 mit 40 Jahren im Trikot der Arizona Diamondbacks erstmals einen Homerun geschlagen hatte.
